Annual total-body skin cancer screening — the most reliable way to detect skin cancer early.
Like an annual physical, a regular full body skin exam is essential for early intervention. Because skin cancer is the most common cancer in humans, the American Academy of Dermatology recommends an annual full-body skin exam — especially if you have significant risk factors. At Innova, we encourage all adult patients to schedule their annual skin check. Dr. Mann can often perform a same-day biopsy if a suspicious spot is found — so you leave with answers, not just questions.
Request an AppointmentWhat to expect at your skin exam
A full body skin exam at Innova is a gentle visual inspection of the entire body from head to toe — including the scalp, between toes, and areas you rarely see yourself. There is no physical pain from the exam itself. Dr. Mann or our physician-supervised PAs will examine every area of skin for suspicious moles, lesions, or changes.
If anything appears suspicious, your provider will clearly communicate what they see and recommend next steps — which may include self-monitoring, a same-day biopsy, or follow-up appointments. We understand that some patients feel apprehensive or vulnerable during a full body skin exam. Our team goes out of its way to make your experience as comfortable as possible.
